Derek Gunawan or “Derek” is an Associate at the Litigation and Dispute Resolution Practice group at Arifin, Purba and Firmansyah (APF).

Derek has assisted in representing and advising clients from a range of industries such as aviation, automobile, oil & gas, shipping, and real estate in navigating through various commercial, criminal, and state administrative disputes. He has involved in disputes settlements before Indonesian Courts and the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC).

Prior to joining APF, Derek worked as an Intern Associate at an Indonesian boutique law firm, assisting lawyers and clients in various investment, employment, financial technology, and general corporate matters with several experience in handling commercial disputes.

Derek graduated cum laude from the Faculty of Law Universitas Indonesia in 2023, concentrating in Private International Law. During his university years, he was actively involved in the Student Executive Body and various legal and non-legal competitions.
